I’ve backed to Japan(Kansai International Airport)in early of November.
Today,I wanna share you the latest info of the procedure, how the transit in Singarore is.
How is KLIA now?
-Passengers were required to show a negative certificate of PCR test before entering the airport.
-People who are seeing off (people who do not board the plane on the day), such as family members, can also enter KLIA.
-The food court of the terminal was renovated, and there are new Starbucks!! it was clean. (About 5 stores in the food court were opened.)
-There were very few people in the airport terminal. Airline check-in, and immigration has no queue.
→But、Boarding time is 1 hour before the departure time.I recommend you to go to KLIA before 2 hour-2.5hour as usual before the departure time.
-The area after the immigration ,almost no stores were opened.
-In stead of the terminal train( It didn’t run),we need to use bus to go to the boarding gate.
KLIA to Singapore & How is the transit in Singapore?
-Regarding the boarding to KUL → SIN flight, there were no big difference from the usual. there was a priority boarding for business class passengers and those who with small children.Regarding economy class, just separately board forward seats and backward seats.
-My flight(KUL to Sin) had only 30-40 passengers.10 of 30-40 passengers had no transit, others had a transit.
-After landing at Changi airport, those who has no transit got off the airplane first and those who has a transit kept remain in the airplane.
-After getting off the airplane, airport staffs put our wrist a ribbon as a sign for transit passengers.(After boarding the airplane from Singapore to final destination, cabin crew cut ribbon off on airplane.)
-Just follow airport staffs to go to the waiting area.(We kept one line to go to the waiting area and there are staff at the beginning and the back in line. No worry about getting lost)
-There were vending machine and mini-shop in the waiting area.We couldn’t enjoy shopping or other activities.
-There were almost nothing in the waiting area.There were sofa, power supply and toilets.
-This is the only shop in the waiting area. You can use Malaysia Ringgit at this mini shop.Other than this, there are only vending machines.(For Beverages,Snacks,Instant meals)
-You can use credit card and debit card at these vending machines.
-You can purchase hot meals(curry, noodles…) at this instant meal vending machine.
-Around 90min before the departure time, you can hear the announcement(Flight number & Destination.)Upon you heαr your announcement, you need to gather the entrance at the waiting area.
-The same as you came to the waiting area, following airport staffs and you go to the boarding gate in line.
-If your final destination is Japan, you will receive some documents which is necessary to fill in before you enter Japan.
-While you waiting,I recommend you to fill in these documents.You can download some of these documents and fill in in advance. However, some of documents can’t be downloaded in advance.You must have a pen to fill in the documents.

-You can prepare the tax declaration paper in advance by downloading and fill in by app.

-If you don’t know how to fill in the forms, you can ask to the airport staffs after you reach Japanese air port.(It seemed that there are a few staffs who are foreign language speakers at the airport when I reached.)
-My flight has around 25 passengers(It seemed 10 of 25 from KLIA, others from Singapore).It seemed 5 of 25 are business class and others are economy class.
After you arrive at KIX-The case to go to the official quarantine facility-
-Following the staff’s guidance and route, you receive the check about various documents such as negative certificates before departure, PCR test (saliva) at the time of entry, confirmation of necessary Apps, confirmation of health condition, etc.
-Regarding negative certificate before departure, you must submit the document with Japanese government official formats.You can download the format from the link.(Ministry of Health in Japan )
-The procedure was very smooth.No crowded.
-The official quarantine hotels are NK=Nikko Kansai or AP=APA Hotel or WS=??.You can’ choose your hotel.
-It takes around 1 hour to receive the test result of PCR test at the time of entry.Though it took 1 hour,I don’t feel tired.While you wait the result, you need to do some procedure and you can wait with siting down.
-After you receive the negative result, you go to the immigration, pick up you luggage,TAX declaration and go to the quarantine hotel by bus.
-Landing time:22:10, Arrive at hotel: 24:10. It took around 2 hours.
-After you reach your room, you can get some meal(Soup, Bread…)
-After you reach your room, you set your location at “My SOS app”.
-After you leave official quarantine hotel and reach self quarantine place, you set your location at “My SOS app” again.
Summary:Don’t worry!!Guidance of the staff is kind and polite! Instructions are easy to understand!
After boarding an airplane from KLIA, you need to follow airport staffs.So you can ask them if you have any questions.
It seemed that you can fill in the documents which is necessary when you enter Japan with airport staffs.
